GRAVE Part Ways With Drummer, Announce Replacement
February 2, 2004Legendary Swedish death metallers GRAVE have parted ways with drummer Christofer Barkensjö. "Both parties decided to go separate ways after the recent European tour for personal reasons and also for Chris to focus more on his main band KAAMOS," the group write on their web site. Joining GRAVE as Chris' replacement is COERCION drummer Pelle Liljenberg. "Pelle played with us during the 2002 European tour and is familiar with a lot of the material already," the band write. "He will also be involved in the process of writing and recording the new album of course."
GRAVE are currently working on the material for their next album. Plans are for the band to record this spring and hopefully have a release after the summer 2004.
In other news, Century Media Records has released a box set featuring six of the band's studio albums on vinyl as well as rare bonus and demo tracks. Entitled "Morbid Ways To Die", it is limited to 2,000 copies. The albums included in the set are: "Into The Grave" (1991),"You'll Never See..." (1992),"Soulless" (1994),"Hating Life" (1996),"Extremely Rotten Live" (1997) and "Back From The Grave" (2002).
